Luiz Cado reigns supreme in main event after epic BRAVE CF 78 card
Dec 07, 2023
BRAVE CF 78 is officially in the books and it proved to be a night to remember as the promotion put on an epic card in Fortaleza, Brazil in association with leading local promotion Victorious MMA
The five-fight main card produced some truly epic results as fighters from every walk of life made a statement with the world watching. That was especially true in the main event, as Luiz Cado made good on his promise to get the job done with a vicious kneebar win over Vernon Ramos.
The contest was fairly competitive until Ramos opted to take things to the ground, which he’d soon live to regret as Cado snatched up his knee and twisted it until Vernon could no longer continue.
In the co-main of the evening, Marciano Ferreira really put himself on the map. From the word go, he was in the face of Edilceu Alves - and it didn’t take long for him to walk the walk after talking the talk. He dropped Alves twice and before he could inflict any more damage, the referee stepped in, as Ferreira signalled to the camera that he wants to go after the belt.
For Luan Santiago, it was a pretty simple night at the office as he eased his way to victory over Manuel Mena. He controlled the pace for all three rounds with the 30-27, 30-26 and 30-27 scorecards highlighting just how dominant he was from beginning to end.
In the meeting between Arlen Ribeiro and Yabna N’Tchala, there was a hint of controversy as the two men fought to a split draw. N’Tchala seemed to be the one in the ascendancy for long spells, but as a result of a deducted point for grabbing Ribeiro’s throat, they had to share the spoils.
As for Marcelo Marques, he left plenty of fans feeling squeamish in the opening bout. He defeated Walysson Aguiar via Americana in the first round, twisting and turning his foe’s arm until he couldn’t take it any longer.
Tune in tonight as the action continues with BRAVE CF 79!
