Filipino Prospect Ian Paul Lora Set For International Debut At BRAVE CF 98 In China

BRAVE Combat Federation returns to China for the third time on Friday, September 19, and a young Filipino talent will step onto the global stage with a chance to make a lasting impression.
Hailing from Daraga, Albay, undefeated lightweight prospect Ian Paul “Choco” Lora (3-0) will make his promotional debut on the supporting card of BRAVE CF 98, squaring off against India’s Owais Yaqoob (3-1) in a three-round showdown at Henan TV Studio 8 in Zhengzhou.
At just 20 years old, Lora has already turned heads in the local MMA scene. Known for his finishing instincts, he has notched one win by knockout and another by submission. His most talked-about victory came last May when he delivered a lightning-fast, nine-second knockout of Philippine-based Virgin Islander Lolo Cruz with a crushing left hook — a highlight that put him firmly on the radar of Filipino fight fans.
Representing Lion’s Den MMA Academy, a well-respected camp in the Bicol region, Lora now looks to bring that same firepower to the BRAVE CF cage.
Standing in his way is Yaqoob, who also makes his BRAVE CF debut. The Indian fighter carries a 3-1 slate and rides a three-fight win streak, capped by a second-round TKO this past April. His momentum makes him a stern test for the Filipino newcomer.
For Lora, however, the stakes couldn’t be higher. A decisive victory could not only validate his promising reputation but also open the door to bigger opportunities within the fastest-growing and most global MMA organization.
The upcoming live event in Zhengzhou underscores BRAVE CF’s growing commitment to showcasing Filipino athletes, following the signing of Drex “T-Rex” Zamboanga earlier this year.
BRAVE CF 98 will be headlined by a highly anticipated rematch, as Ukraine’s No. 1 contender Omar Solomanov takes on Kazakhstan’s No. 2-ranked Rauan “Shymyr” Bekbolat for the BRAVE CF Interim Featherweight World Title.
