BRAVE Combat Federation made a triumphant return to China with BRAVE CF 98, held in partnership with YFU, at Henan TV Studio 8 in Zhengzhou on Friday, September 19.
The blockbuster event delivered an evening of world-class mixed martial arts action, headlined by the coronation of a BRAVE CF Interim Featherweight World Champion and a series of thrilling battles that underscored the promotion’s commitment to showcasing elite global talent.
Solomanov Outduels Bekbolat In Featherweight Interim World Title Rematch
In the highly anticipated main event, Ukraine’s Omar Solomanov captured the BRAVE CF Interim Featherweight World Championship with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Kazakh rival Rauan “Shymyr” Bekbolat.
Solomanov leaned on his superior grappling throughout the five-round clash, controlling the action on the mat and smothering Bekbolat with airtight ground dominance.
The Kazakh standout mounted a dangerous rally in the third frame, threatening with multiple submission attempts, but Solomanov weathered the storm and reasserted control in the championship rounds.
After 25 minutes of tactical warfare, the judges rendered a unanimous verdict in favor of the Ukrainian, crowning him the interim featherweight king.
Hwende Returns To Form Against Xie Bin
The co-main event saw former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion Nicholas Hwende return to the win column with a commanding performance over Chinese favorite “The Stalker” Xie Bin.
Hwende set the tone early with relentless pressure and heavy offense, nearly securing a stoppage on two occasions.
Xie mounted a spirited surge in the final round, but the Zimbabwean star showcased composure and control, sealing a unanimous decision victory.
Yaqoob Stuns With Debut Finish
India’s Owais Yaqoob made a dream debut under the BRAVE CF banner, stopping the Philippines’ Ian Paul “Choco” Lora in the opening round of their lightweight contest.
Yaqoob wasted no time imposing his game plan, taking the fight to the ground and raining down a barrage of hammerfists that forced Lora to tap to strikes at 3:06 of round one — a rare finish that marked an emphatic arrival for the Indian prospect.
Jiniushiyue Edges Biko In Striking War
A 59-kilogram catchweight barnburner saw China’s “Little King Kong” Jiniushiyue outlast South Africa’s Luthando “Shorty” Biko in a three-round striking war.
Both fighters traded heavy shots from start to finish in one of the evening’s most entertaining bouts.
After 15 minutes of nonstop action, the judges sided with the hometown hero, who had the Zhengzhou crowd roaring in celebration.
Ti Spoils Agasa’s Return
China’s Haitao Ti delivered one of the night’s most decisive finishes, stopping India’s Kantharaj Agasa in just over a minute of their bantamweight clash.
Ti quickly took the action to the ground, secured back mount, and unleashed a barrage of unanswered strikes until the referee intervened at the 1:34 mark, silencing Agasa’s comeback bid.
Kadelibieke, Zeqiuduoji, Tarek Impress
In featherweight action, China’s Kalinu Kadelibieke scored a third-round stoppage over Turbayar Khurelbaatar of Mongolia after mixing heavy striking with dominant grappling to author a ground-and-pound TKO at the 2:18 mark.
Earlier in the evening, Zeqiuduoji gave the local crowd reason to cheer by overcoming Mojtaba “The Soldier Panther” Nasiri of Iran.
After weathering a grappling-heavy start, Zeqiuduoji took over with crisp striking to earn a unanimous decision.
Egypt’s Ahmed “The Mental Rock” Tarek kicked off the night with a grappling masterclass against China’s Zhao Yikun.
Nearly locking in a rare twister submission in the opening round, Tarek dominated throughout and cruised to a clear-cut unanimous decision victory.
