The BRAVE Combat Federation Featherweight division will witness one of its most anticipated rematches as top-ranked Omar Solomanov takes on number-two ranked Rauan Bekbolat for the Interim Featherweight World Title at BRAVE CF 98 in China, on September 19.
This is more than just a championship bout — it’s a story of redemption versus validation.
The two first met at BRAVE CF 85 in Lahore, Pakistan, in what was expected to be a showcase for Solomanov, who entered the fight on an eleven-fight unbeaten streak and was on the cusp of a world title shot. For two rounds, it seemed like business as usual for the Ukrainian contender, who controlled the action and looked on course to secure his twelfth straight win.
But Bekbolat had other plans. In the third and final round, the Kazakh debutant snatched a stunning guillotine choke, putting Solomanov to sleep and delivering one of the biggest upsets in BRAVE CF history.
Since then, both men have made strong statements. Solomanov bounced back with a first-round demolition of Izzedine Derbani at BRAVE CF 92, showing his trademark aggression and precision. Bekbolat continued his momentum by handing Zequiodoji his first professional loss with a devastating liver punch knockout.
Now, with the world champion Nemat Abdrashitov unavailable, the two rivals will meet again — this time with interim gold on the line. For Solomanov, it’s a chance to erase the only blemish on his record and claim his first world title. For Bekbolat, it’s the opportunity to prove the first win was no fluke and solidify himself as one of the most dangerous featherweights on the planet.
